My Beginnings in Digital Design

This school holidays I have been learning to use digital design programs such as Picmonkey and Canva online.  They are fabulous for creating many products, from posters to wallpapers and Facebook graphics.

This is a wallpaper that I created with Canva:

However, I'd really like to create some digital backgrounds (maybe like scrapbooking?) and make my own patterned backgrounds.  I have found a few background generators and had a play with them and these are some of the results:

However, they are very small, so I need to figure out how to increase the number of pixels or the dimensions so I can use them.

Does anyone have any tips?  Bear in mind that I don't have photoshop.

What do you thnk about what I've done so far?
